Bed-Stuy Officers and Others Honored at D.A. Hynes Annual Breakfast

D.A. Hynes gives special honors to hero cop Peter Figoski, who was recently killed while responding to a robbery in Brooklyn

On Wednesday, May 23, at Brooklyn Law School, Kings County District Attorney Charles J. Hynes extended special honors to two Bed-Stuy law enforcement officers -- Michael Miller and Anthony Presley -- and 19 other officers for their outstanding work and dedication to the community at his 22nd annual Law Enforcement Appreciation Awards breakfast.

This year’s honorees include officers who dodged bullets as they chased down dangerous individuals; a court officer who saved a court reporter’s life by performing CPR; a Fire Marshal who solved a complex arson investigation; officers who gave back to the community; and Officer Peter Figoski who was killed in the line of duty when he responded to a break-in at an East New York apartment.

Michael Miller (81st Pct) was honored for taking down a dangerous, armed man with a lengthy criminal record after stopping a livery cab carrying two suspicious passengers.
