Bed-Stuy Mom Murders 7-Year-Old Son: Cops

Brooklyn mother, a known prostitute, called 911 to say she had killed the child and attempted to commit suicide by taking pills, according to officials.

A Bed-Stuy mother and known prostitute was arrested on Friday night for the murder of her 7-year-old son, police said.

Tenika Revell, 40, was arrested after a unit responded to a 911 call she had placed just before 11:00 p.m. in which she claimed to have killed her son and taken a handful of pills in an attempt to take her own life.

Upon arrival at Revell's home on Marcus Garvey Boulevard, police discovered her and the unconscious young boy inside. Seven-year-old Bernard Revell had experienced severe trauma to the head and could not be revived.

The child was pronounced dead at the scene, while Revell was taken to Woodhull Medical Center for evaluation, according to cops.

Revell has a series of prior prostitution arrests on her record. Police are still investigating the cause of the murder.

She was charged with second-degree murder, manslaughter and endangering the welfare of a child.
