81st Pct. Homicide Alert: Murder Victim, Laron James

There are no arrests at this time. The investigation is ongoing.

On Wednesday February 9th, 2011, at approximately 2:00 am, police responded to a 911 call of shots fired in front of 50 Stuyvesant Ave, within the confines of the 81st precinct.

When police arrived on the scene, they observed the victim, a black male, identified as Laron James, 26, with three gunshot wounds to his chest and two gunshot wounds to his left leg.

EMS responded and transported James to Woodhull hospital where he was pronounced dead.

There are no arrests at this time. The investigation is ongoing. The identification of the DOA is pending family notification. 

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of the person responsible for the shooting is asked to call the New York City Police Department's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS.
