The New York City Police Department is seeking the public's assistance locating the following individual who is wanted for questioning surrounding the below case:

Rashawn Blakes M/B/30

He is 6'1", approximately 185 lbs, has black hair and brown eyes.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of this person is asked to call the New York City Police Department's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS. The public can also submit their tips by logging onto the Crime stoppers website at www.nypdcrimestoppers.com or texting their tips to 274637 (crimes) then enter TIP577.

All calls are kept strictly confidential.

 

On Friday, January 14, 2011, at approximately 3:00 pm, police responded to a call of a male shot in the lobby of 85 Tompkins Avenue in Bedford-Stuyvesant.

Upon arrival, the man, later identified as John Gilliam, 23, of 44 Marcus Garvey Boulevard, was found with gunshot wounds to the torso. 

EMS responded to the location and transported the victim to Woodhull Hospital where he was later pronounced dead. 

There are no arrests at this time. Family notification is pending for the deceased. The investigation is ongoing.
