Parents to Children: I HAVE A DREAM FOR MY CHILD FORUM

Friends of Wingate Park in Partnership with  BMS Family Health Center invites you to attend our Parents 2 Children forum. This event will address gun/gang violence in the communities of Crown Heights, Brownsville, East New York, East Flatbush, Bed-Stuyvesant and Canarsie.

This will be an assembly to offer support and solutions for parents who suffer the loss of a child or children in the line of gun/gang violence. We will have representatives from each district to identify programs or services that assist parents and community
members who have lost loved ones to gun/gang violence.

Let’s stand together for this historic event as Dr. King asked us. We encourage (no, we NEED) you to come out and support our children and our community forum. Friends of Wingate Park asks you to join us on Monday, January 20, 2014 from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m at Thomas Jefferson H.S Campus, 400 Pennsylvania Avenue, Brooklyn NY 11207. This date marks Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.

We are calling on groups that care about education, our children, teachers, and public schools to join us. Please give us a call if this is something your organization may be interested in supporting.Topics includes Gun Control, Education, Youth Services, Jobs, Housing and Healthcare.

Our goal is to reach at least 200-500 victims and survivors of gun/gang violence. The objective is to bring awareness as well as encourage victims to speak out by showing them ways and methods to stop gun/gang violence as well as prevent it.

We look forward to your usual kind support and participation.
