Nelson Mandela Dead at 95

Former South African leader led crusade against apartheid

Former South African president Nelson Mandela, a man who captured the world's attention for his stand against apartheid, died Thursday at 95, according to published reports. 

Current South African President Jacob Zuma confirmed Mandela's death to news agencies Thursday afternoon. 

Mandela's crusade against South African apartheid changed the face of the African continent after he served 27 years in prison for his anti-apartheid activities.
