Good Food in the Hood: Bed-Stuy Farm Share Winter Share, MILK Not Jails Order Deadline TODAY, and Bed-Stuy Bounty New Member Special

Eat real food sourced locally, fresh, and organically year-round with Bed-Stuy Farm Share, Milk Not Jails, and Bed-Stuy Bounty.

Much of the local and organic grocery options in Bed-Stuy are homegrown and activist led, meaning, they were all founded by long-time residents looking to change the food system on the ground level by creating their own models of good food access - fresh, local, organic, and reasonably priced - that also connect to issues of food and social justice. Here are three of them:

Bed-Stuy Farm Share invites you to join its winter Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) option.  Enjoy produce from Hudson Valley farms that was harvested this summer and fall by Winter Sun Farms and frozen for your enjoyment this winter!

Freezing is the best way to preserve nutrients in food.  This produce is fresh and you can taste the difference!  Also, for those of you who have been members of the Bed-Stuy Farm Share, you will be thrilled by this low-impact CSA.  Think about how easy it is to eat fresh, delicious vegetables when they've already been cut, washed or pureed for you!

Join now and then pick up your "share" once a month from December through April to Common Grounds Coffee on Tompkins between Putnam And Jefferson Avenues.

Sign up now and receive $10 off the share price (= $132)! Use the coupon code Bed-Stuy under the promotion code section when paying at our Farmigo site http://csa.farmigo.com/join/wintersunfarms/winter2012-2013

Our season kicks off in December when your share is projected to include Sweet corn, Butternut puree, Green beans, Peppers, Tomato, Raspberry, and Pea Shoots. New this year, our tomato puree will be in a glass jar which can be stored on a shelf.

If you have any questions about the share, please contact leslie@wintersunfarms.com
