Bike Share comes to Bed-Stuy

Bike Share makes cycling in cities more efficient and economical.

Bike Share is coming to Bedford Stuyvesant!  In summer 2012, NYC Department of Transportation and Alta Bikes will launch NYC Bike Share with approximately 10,000 bikes at 600 stations across the city.  Bed Stuy will be one of the core program areas.

This is your opportunity to learn more about Bike Share and give suggestions for how the program can work in your community. For more information, visit www.nyc.gov/bikeshare.

***Bike Share Basics: Bike Share will be a new bike-based public transportation option for New Yorkers (16 and over or adults).  Members register with the program, pay an annual membership, and can use bikes at any of the program kiosks across the city.  The first 45 minutes are no-fee per use: enough time for you to bike to work, parks, grocery stores, libraries, or cultural institutions.  When you arrive at your destination, you return the bike to a Bike Share kiosk for the next user.
