Bed-Stuy Farm Share and Bed-Stuy Bounty are now Accepting Members

Bed-Stuy Farm Share and Bed-Stuy Bounty offer residents good food at good prices from regional farmers and businesses.

Bed-Stuy has several community-based and community-led good food options that deliver fresh, quality foods from small farmers and food businesses in the New York region.

Here are two of them. 

Bed-Stuy Farm Share, the neighborhood’s traditional community supported agriculture project is now accepting members for its 2012 season.

Full shares of vegetables and eggs are available for about 22 weeks from June through November. 

Shareholders receive produce from African Zion Organic Roots Farm, Circle Mountain Farm, and Guerrilla Grown Produce, located in Vermont. All of the farmers use organic growing methods and provide chemical-free and pesticide-free vegetables, and cage-free and hormone-free eggs.

Distribution will be held Tuesdays from 3:30-6:30 at the Bed-Stuy Y on Bedford and Monroe.

Bed-Stuy Bounty is a new wholesale buying club where members can purchase a variety of foods as single items or in bulk (individually or split with other members). Organic, local, and vegetarian options are available.

There is a membership fee and an order minimum, and delivery will be on Thursdays at Freebrook Academy on Stuyvesant and Decatur.
