Spread Gratitude The Brooklyn Way

In all things, we should be grateful.

This past Sunday, the Billboard Music Awards was broadcasted live Las Vegas, Nevada. This premise of this show has always been fan driven. The fans determine the winners by record sale scans. The fans also vote for their favorite artists of the year. It's been said by many and echoed by some artists in the past and to present day, that this award means more because it comes directly from the fans. The accomplishments from this show are not or should not be taken for granted.

While Taylor Swift landed on top as fan favorite, Justin Beiber wasn't as loved by the Vegas crowd. In her acceptance speech for best artist of the year, Taylor Swift identified her fans as being the partner in her best relationship ever. Justin Beiber had to do more apologizing and damage control than show love to his “Beleiber” fans because they are a tad annoyed with his antics of showing up late for shows and blowing off fans. The lack of love came at a cost that he was not ready to pay out.

It boils down to respect and gratitude!

If someone supports you be gracious in action and in speech. In action, it's more about respecting their time, ideas and their financial resources. In speech, it’s the act of speaking life and love into the relationship and the experience. You may not have fans but you do have family members, co-workers, associates and strangers/potential partners who you will meet on along the way. Those individuals are important, their time and resources are important; your attitude of gratitude will go a long way with these individuals.

So, let your graciousness be your ticket to the big leagues.
After all, it's the Brooklyn Way!
