Big Apple Crunch Food Day Thursday October 24th

This year's food day is on Thursday, October 24th. The Mayor is asking all New Yorkers to participate in The Big Apple Crunch. At noon or some time on the 24th, as many New Yorkers as possible are going to take a bite of an apple to honor healthy eating and sustainable farming practices.

"An apple a day keeps the doctor away"

Few reasons to eat apples:
Apples are filled with soluble fiber; i...t helps control insulin levels by releasing sugar slowly into the blood stream, it cleanses and detoxifies, which helps eliminates heavy metals such as lead and mercury.
Apples are packed with vitamin C, A and Flavonioids and with smaller amounts of phosphorous, iron and calcium.
