True South Bookstore August Film Fundraiser, Wattstax, 2 PM. The Education of Sonny Carson, 7 PM

As part of True South Bookstore's fundraising efforts we will be hosting a series of film screenings every Sunday in August at 2 PM and 7 PM.

The first film, Wattstax, a documentary about the 1972 Wattstax music festival and the Black community of Watts in Los Angeles, will be screened this Sunday, August 4th at 2 PM. $5 donation.

The second film, The Education of Sonny Carson, will be shown at 7 PM. This 1974 film is based on the best-selling autobiography of Sonny Carson, the true story of the legendary Bed-Stuy Black Nationalist figure Iwina Lmiri Abubadika. $5 donation.
