Wednesdays-Fridays 11:00AM to 6:00PM
Saturdays 1:00PM to 6:00PM On going Exhibition from November 3rd to January 3rd

Noisy in the Next Room, Danny Simmons’
solo exhibition of new work speaks to the heart and soul of human existence,
providing a dramatic and compelling bridge between the past and now, we are
asked to imagine a future where hope and revival are commonplace. His paintings
operate on multiple levels of perception, employing commonplace practices of
repetition and erasure, urging you to abandon the notion of up and down. The
artist continues to mine his hard-won personal experiences, spiritual
discoveries and broader historical scope. Describing himself as a “neo-African
Expressionist” , the New York Times recently stated what some have long
recognized, “there is a freshness to his abstract work.” With a homeward bound
spirit, his artwork enters into conversations with artists like Paul Klee, Cy
Twombly, Wilfredo Lam and others; while his poetry resonates with that of
Chester Himes, Ishmael Reed and Allan Ginsberg. There is this awareness of the
thing just beyond the door — a person, a place, a memory that makes its
presence strongly felt, the exhibit takes us to that door and opening it and
reveals the space where the rich forces of Mr. Simmons’ creative energies live.
