Free Screening of "The Freedom Riders"

DIVAS for Social Justice & Brooklyn Zen Center are proud to present in honor of Black History month a screening of, “Freedom Riders”. The first full length documentary about a courageous band of civil rights activists that decided, en masse, to risk everything and buy a ticket on a Greyhound bus bound for the Deep South in 1961 in order to correct civil right inequities that plagues the nation. “Created Equal: America’s Civil Rights Struggle” is made possible through a major grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities, as part of its Bridging Cultures initiative, in partnership with the Gilder Lehrman Institute of American History.

Please join us at 6:30pm for a viewing followed by reflections and discussion. This event is open to the community. All are encouraged and welcome. Please join us.
