Who's Your Favorite Avenger?

And you... Smash!

What’s the big news this week in entertainment?

“The Avengers."

The movie of the Marvel Comics all-star dream team raked in a ginormous $200.3 million in U.S. theaters this weekend for its debut, skating past the previous record of $169.2 million for the 2011 debut of “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows — Part 2.”

Worldwide, this Disney blockbuster — which brings together all on one court “Iron Man,” “The Incredible Hulk,” “Thor” and “Captain America” and the “Black Widow”— has earned $641.8 million, more than previous Marvel flicks earned in their entire runs.

Not only were the characters played in colossal fashion, but the witty repartee was as canned as the comic-book versions, giving the viewer the sweet illusion they were dropped right inside the pages of the comic book itself.

Some of my favorite personal one-liners included:

Captain America (Chris Evans): "Big man in a suit of armor, take that away and what are you?" Tony Stark (Robert Downey, Jr.): "Genius, billionaire, playboy, philanthropist."

“Dr. Banner, now would be a pretty good time to get angry,” says Captain America to Mark Ruffalo’s Bruce Banner.

“That’s my secret, Captain. I’m always angry,” Banner replies, right before running towards a giant spaceship creature, transforming into the Incredible Hulk, and smashing it to shreds.

So, who was your favorite Avenger? Take our poll, and tell us why in the comments.
