Weiner Trails Kim Kardashian in Observer Mayoral Poll

Among the things they have in common? Nude pics on the Internet.

In an extremely unscientific study conducted earlier this week by the New York Observer, all the candidates for New York City mayor got some bad news.

None of them are as recognizable as Kim Kardashian.

All things considered, we should probably have seen this coming. Kardashian is on the front cover of the New York Post almost as often as A-Rod is on the back. But she seriously kicked the crap out of every candidate running. Three-quarters of respondents could identify her, far more than any mayoral candidate.

The most recognizable candidate for mayor? Anthony Weiner, which also probably shouldn't be that surprising. Weiner was recognized by 55 percent of the 20 people the Observer polled on New York City's streets.

Christine Quinn was a close third with 50 percent.

Dwelling in the basement with a paltry 15 percent recognition were former Comptroller Bill Thompson and current Public Advocate Bill de Blasio, who one person mistook for a Harry Potter character.
