The NYPD announces street closures and anticipated traffic delays for the weekend May 5-6.  Drivers should expect delays in the following areas:

Sunday, May 6 

TD FIVE-BORO BIKE TOUR, 7:45 a.m. – 6:30 p.m.

On Sunday, May 6th the Staten Island-bound lower level of the Verrazano-Narrows Bridge will be closed to traffic between 12:01 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. for the annual TD Bank Five Boro Bike Tour.

The Brooklyn-bound lower level of the bridge will also close at 12:01 a.m., and two of three lanes will reopen at approximately 8:00 a.m.

The upper level of the bridge will remain open in both directions throughout the event. Motorists should expect delays and seek alternate routes if possible.

In addition, traffic exiting the Brooklyn-Battery Tunnel in Brooklyn will be diverted to Hamilton Avenue between 10:00 a.m. and 3:30 p.m..

The ramp to the Robert F. Kennedy Bridge from the FDR Drive will be closed from 8:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m., and all Manhattan-bound traffic must exit at 125th Street.
