The Fall 2010 Tweed Bike Ride

Beginning two years ago in the fall and spring, Maude Delice began hosting a “Tweed Bike Ride” in Brooklyn. Riders don their best version of 1930s and 1940s couture and then take off riding from Grand Army Plaza, to Flatbush Farm, a restaurant at Sixth Avenue in Park Slope, where they rest and enjoy and Old English-style brunch and live music.

They compete for awards such as “Most Distinguished Lad,” “Most Ravishing Lass,” and “Most Magnificent Steed” (a reference to the bike).

Photographer Michael July participated in the Tweed Bike Ride this past fall. He documented digitally in pictures this classy, graceful and downright adorable spectacle, which he has decided to share with us.
