VIDEO: Restoration Rocked!

Bed-Stuy comes alive on Fulton Street

The 6th Annual Restoration Rocks Music Festival kicked off on Saturday to a packed crowd eager to celebrate the economic and cultural vibrancy of Bed-Stuy.

The free day-long concert featured some of the most dynamic emerging and established artists on one stage, including Maimouna Youssef, Martin Luther, jessica Care moore with Special Guest from Black Women Rock, Brand Nubian and MC Lyte.

This year's hosts were Tai Allen of ViceLounge and Dr. Aletha Maybank, MD, MPH, Assistant Commissioner, NYC Dept. Of Health and Mental Hygiene.

Restoration Rocks is the kick off event as part a two week long festival, Bed Stuy Alive! from October 6- October 20.

The event was presented in partnership with the Soul of Brooklyn, Restoration Plaza, Bed-Stuy Patch, Centric, The Rockefeller Foundation, the Pratt Center for Community Development, the Bed Stuy Gateway Business Improvement District, the Weatherization Assistance Program and Bed Stuy Alive.
