Readers' Choice: Best Places in Bed-Stuy to Stay-cation

A staycation is a neologism for a period in which an individual or family stays and relaxes at home, possibly taking day trips to area attractions.

Staycations became popular in the US during the most recent recession when overseas vacations suddenly became too expensive. Eventually, the term was added to the 2009 version of the Merriam-Webster's Collegiate Dictionary.

So… where do you like to hang out in Bed-Stuy when you want to get away, but you don’t have the ends to wander too far out of the nabe? Is it at the Le Chateau de French Spa where you can be spoiled, or the Vaya Institute for some spiritual meditation?

Perhaps it's at the Sacred Yoga spot on Clifton Place for some stretching and deep breathing, or the Bedford YMCA for a good workout and some time in the steam room, or an overnight getaway at the Loftstel Hostel across the street from Von King Park…
