Gas prices hold steady another week

No news is good news, when it comes to changing gas prices in Central Brooklyn.

And this week, prices held steady and unchanged, remaining at $3.63 per regular gallon of gas, the same price as last week at this time.

Over the last five months since our Petro Patrol began, there have been only two other consecutive weeks when gas prices held steady. Across the remaining 17 weeks, prices have fluctuated from week to week, making it difficult for patrons at the pump to build confidence surrounding petroleum gas market.

A highly skittish and volatile gas market over the past year has left motorists indifferent and skeptical, at best. A signal that prices are steadying could go a long way in rebuilding confidence that prices may be starting to normalize.

"Oh it's unchanged," asked Gilles Height, 54, who was filling up his tank. "I didn't even notice. I've stopped paying attention, because the prices seem to change every other day. But it would be nice to see prices finally steady... it's been a crazy last couple of years."
