The price of regular gas drops four cents

In light of the daunting outlook of America’s debt debacle and flailing credit rating, here’s a bit of good news: The price of gas dropped four cents in the last week.

Gasoline prices first starting dropping at the beginning of the summer, giving motorists a little hope of a petroleum price turnaround. But then, the price was back on the incline recently for two weeks, and then began to level off for one full week.

This week, it’s back down four cents to $3.99, where it was three weeks ago on July 17. But not surprisingly, patrons at the pump aren’t exactly jumping for joy. They say the price is just too high period, and the minor fluctuations do little more than let them know that gas prices are in an insecure place.

“I don’t know what I think about the gas prices right now,” said Ramel Ramsey, 24. He also was filling up his takns, but he says he tries not to think about it. “I try not to pay attention anymore. But I can imagine it’s probably hard for a lot of people though.”
