Gas price falls another 2 cents, but is still one dollar more than last year's national average

Gas is down 2 cents-- $3.93, from $3.95 just a few days ago. In fact, gasoline prices are down again in all regions across the country.

According to Consumerreports.org, even though gas prices are steadily lowering, the national gasoline average is still $1.01 above the price it was this time last year.

There is a little-known and little-used feature on your GPS that you should know about: It's a gas price locator. Found on such models as Garmin (Nuvi 1690) and TomTom (740 Go Live), a gas price locator can show the local pump prices and help you find the lowest-rate gas stations in your area.

Consumerreports.org found the device helpful and surprisingly accurate.

"It isn't always perfect, as the data can lag behind the actual changes made at a gas station," said Jim Travers, a writer for Consumer Reports. "When the number are a few hours or a day behind, we found it can still be a useful guide. The stations that are cheapest today will likely be cheapest tomorrow."
