Petro Patrol

Gas prices increase another 4 cents

When we first started our patrol on Wednesday, April 27, the price for regular gas was $4.09. By the next day, already the price for regular fuel had increased 6 cents, kicking the price up to $4.15.

On Monday, May 2, less than a week later, the price of petroleum once again jumped 4 cents, bringing the cost to $4.19 a gallon for regular gas. That's two increases in less than one week.

"This is ridiculous," said Cinti Salandy, 52. She says it costs her about $80 to fill her tank. She said the prices have forced her to drive a lot less.

Trini, 47, said driving less is not an option for him, because he needs his car to get around for work. He feels like the prices are only going to continue to go up as the weather gets warmer.
