Paid Summer Internships at Brooklyn Navy Yard Now Open

Application deadline is May 6, 2013

The Brooklyn Navy Yard Industrial Park is offering a young adult summer internship program at the Brooklyn Navy Yard.

The goal of the program is to offer college students who live locally an opportunity to gain work experience with the businesses in the Navy Yard and earn a salary to supplement their college expenses.

BNYDC will interview and hire qualified applicants who are at least 18 years of age and can show proof of enrollment in a certified college program.

The program is eight weeks, beginning on June 3 for students currently enrolled in college and July for graduating high school students. There will be a mandatory orientation session hosted by BNYDC for the students chosen for the program. The students will work a 35-hour work-week with a one-hour unpaid lunch break each day.

The deadline for the application is May 6, and can be downloaded for the Brooklyn Navy Yard’s website here.
