Mother Nature: "Oops, I Did it Again!"

Can we say, "Bi-Po-Lar-Dis-Or-Der?"

I'm convinced: Mother Nature has bipolar disorder. Can someone get this lady some Prozac? What else explains why she keeps teasing us with, "Yes... No... What? Okay, maybe!"

I mean, I can hardly believe that just last Thursday, I saw some someone on my block in Bed-Stuy walking around in shorts and flip-flops. It must have been a figment of my imagination, because from the looks of today, the idea seems ludicrous.

But, in all fairness, it is February. Maybe we're rushing the coming of spring, because it is still one full month away. I think we figure, we received such a pounding this winter of one snowstorm after another, we deserve a reprieve -- a nicely wrapped package waiting for us in the form of an early spring!

But alas, we are reminded again that we are not the ones in control. Until we accept that brutal truth (and, perhaps, ease our global-warming habits), Mother Nature will continue to be her fickle, moody self.

In the meantime, try to make the best of today: Take a stroll outside; soak in the beauty of fresh snow; visit your local coffee shop, and order a nice, hot soy mocha latte with a croissant.
