Karen's Weekly Words of Wisdom: Keeper Of The Legacy

When your actions match your words, you build in others loyalty and trust

I watched the “Making of Tony Bennett Duets II,” a cd that he recorded with a host of singers.

Each song was recorded as a live performance at a club, someone’s home or in a simple studio, and each performance was personalized for that person and the song.

Before every session, the singers were able to share their personal thoughts about Tony Bennett-- his music, his passion for the arts and his longevity in the industry. One of the singers, K.D Lange described the experience of working with Tony Bennett and she shared a very poignant statement: She called him "the keeper of the legacy."

Who are you? What will others say about you? What do you want them to say about you?

Dictating how you want to be perceived does not have to happen by what you tell others through words, but rather show them through your actions.  

As long as what you say is consistent with what you do, you are creating your own legacy, as consistency usually brings trust, loyalty and respect.
