Job Opportunity: DSNY Registering Emergency Snow Laborers

The NYC Department of Sanitation is registering emergency snow laborers

The New York City Department of Sanitation currently is seeking emergency snow laborers for the 2011/2012 winter season to help remove snow and ice citywide.

These workers would be called upon to work at bus stops, crosswalks and from step streets in sections of the the City after heavy snowfalls at a rate starting at $12/hour and increases to $18/hour after completing 40 hours each pay week.

Interested individuals can register at any DSNY garage bewteen 7:00am - 3:00pm, Monday through Friday.

The Manhattan District 12 garage is located at 301 West 215th Street between 9th Avenue and the Harlem Rive in Inwood. The District 10 garage is at 110 East 131st Street between Lexington and Park Avenues. The District 9 garage is located at 125 East 149th Street between Bronx Gerard Avenue and Walton Avenue.

Applicants must be at least 18, be leigible to work in the United States and be capable of performing heavy physical labor.

All applicants should bring their social security card and a photo copy of it, two small photos and two original documents and their photo copies that prove identity and employment eligibility, such as a driver's license, federal, state or local identification, school I.D. with a photo, or passport at the time of registration.
