Park Slope: Tractor Trailer Kills Pedestrian on Flatbush and Atlantic Aves

A pedestrian was killed after being struck by a tractor trailer while crossing the intersection of Atlantic and Flatbush avenues on Wednesday, an NYPD report said.

In a phone call early Wednesday morning, co-owner Mike Sale told Patch that the store has been made an offer by Investors Bank and that April 30 will be its last day of operation.

Bed-Stuy: 4 People Rescued from Basement Fire on Madison St

Fire officials are investigating an early morning fire on Madison Street where four people were rescued and at least one was treated for series injuries. According to fire officials, the fire broke out Friday morning at around 5:46 a.m. in the basement of a three-story private dwelling at 823 Madison Street, between Ralph and Howard avenues.

Prospect Heights: Gourmet Take-Out to Replace Back 9 Grill on Vanderbilt

Finally, a new business has begun renovating 635 Vanderbilt Ave., replacing the short-lived Back 9 Grill. Called "Stocked," the new cafe located between Prospect and St. Marks will offer healthy entrees, sides, salads and sauces for Prospect Heighters to grab on their way home.

Ditmas Park: Two Men Wanted For Armed Robbery of Flatbush Avenue Store

The New York City Police Department is asking for the public's assistance in identifying and locating two men wanted for a commercial robbery that occurred within the confines of the 70th Precinct.
