The Noel Pointer Foundation Presents: FiddleFest

Where/When: . March 19, 1:00PM (Tune-up) - 2:00 (event start) - 3:00 (program ends) Prospect Park High School, 883 Classon Avenue

Why Go: The Noel Pointer Foundation is having its annual Fiddlefest where our young violinists, cellists, violists, and classical guitarists will show off what they have learned. Arts in education is an important aspect of our students' lives, many will argue even more so than reading, writing and mathematics. Albert Einstein had once said that  "We have created a society that honors the servant and has forgotten the gift." All of us and our community thank you for providing the possibility for our children to realize their genius.

Urban Park Rangers Presents The Red Coats are Coming

Where/When: This Saturday, March 20th, Fort Greene Park Visitor’s Center (Myrtle Avenue and Washington Park

Why Go: Learn about the leaders of the British forces that routed America's troops in the devastating Battle of Brooklyn during the Revolutionary War.

 Price: Free 

Lefferts 2nd Floor Tours

Where/When: Prospect Park, March 19th, 2011, every half hour, from 1:00 – 3:30 pm

Why Go: Normally, the second floor of this historic house is closed from public view. Yet this tour allows you a glimpse into an authentic, time capsule-esque, 19th century home with a fully furnished 1820s bedroom.

Price: Free

Be Green Kids Consignment Sale

Where/When: The Dumbo Spot , 160 Water Street, Bklyn, Saturday, March 20th (last day for sale)

Why Go: Bring your old children’s clothes and participate in the “Be Green Kids Consignment Sale.” Just choose the items you would like to sell, prepare them, and drop them off. We'll do the rest! All consignors automatically earn 60% of their items that sell. Consignors that volunteer can increase their earning by 5% for each four hour shift they participate in. Limit of three shifts (75% max). N.Y. Cupcake Company will be providing free sweets for all to enjoy during our event weekend.

Children’s Program: Imagination for Haiti

Where/When: MocCADA, 80 Hanson Place, Bklyn, NY, Saturday, March 19th, 1:00 pm - 3:00pm

Why Go: MoCADA will host an exciting afternoon of activities for the youngest members of our audience to explore their imaginations!  Facilitated by MoCADA’s Director of Education and a teaching artist, this workshop will explore the creative possibilities in how art making can be used to educate children about the country of Haiti. Refreshments will be served

Price: $5 adults / $4 students
