WHAT: Empowerment Sunday

WHEN/WHERE: Sunday, April 29, 8:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. The host church for this year's event will be Bishop Hezekiah Walker of the Love Fellowship Tabernacle, "The Kingdom Church" located at 464 Liberty Avenue, Brooklyn, New York.

WHY GO: Each year, in partnership with the Coalition for the Improvement of Bedford Stuyvesant bring together churches throughout Central Brooklyn to celebrate Empowerment Sunday in the hopes of helping congregations meet the challenge of surviving one of the toughest economic periods in modern times.

WHAT: The 2012 Battle of the Drumlines

WHEN/WHERE: Sunday, April 29, 3:00 p.m. 280 Remsen Street, Bklyn, NY

WHY GO: The Battle of the Drumlines event was created by The Brooklyn Steppers Marching Band in 2011 as an extension of its mission to enhance the physical and social development of youth through the performing arts.  This year's Battle of the Drumlines will feature local high school and community drumlines battling it out for top honors.  The event will also include a special performance by North Carolina A&T State University Cold Steel. All proceeds from the event will benefit The Brooklyn Steppers Marching Band.
