WHY GO: The Black Rock Coalition salutes longtime BAMcafé friend Tom Terrell, the incisive music journalist, radio personality, and talent scout best known for bringing reggae group Steel Pulse to the US. As a tribute to Tom, the BRC performs Steel Pulse’s signature album, True Democracy, in its entirety, prefaced by testimonials by Greg Tate and Amy Linden.

WHY GO: Lewis Avenue Flea Market's 11th Season!  Bed-Stuy's First Open Air Market.  Free to the public.  Vending Space $20!  Proceeds from the sell of vending space benefits the PTA and Teen Program at MS-35.  Interested vendors come out on Saturdays to speak with a manager.

WHEN/WHERE: Sunday, May 13, 10:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m., Jeffrey’s, 426A Marcus Garvey Blvd, Brooklyn, NY

WHY GO: Join us on Mother’s day as we celebrate the women who made us who we are today. We will be serving Brunch till, 4pm. In addition to our dining room menu, our Mother’s Day dinner special will be: Filet Mignon with a Bernaise Sauce, $32.
