This weekend is going to be packed with parties and events. Here are some things going on around the neighborhood.

It is the end of 2011, and we are finally finishing up the holiday season. If you are looking for a place to spend your New Years Eve night, check out this . 

But New Years promises more than just parties and champagne toasts. Here are some other events taking place around the neighborhood this weekend:

When/Where: Friday, December 30, 9:00 p.m., at Bushbaby Loung at 1197 Fulton Street

Why Go: Bushbaby recently reopened, and tonight they are featuring Bushbaby Brooklyn Lounge and Cafe Exotic Blends, with guest DJs spinning House, Afrobeat, Hip-Hop, Reggae, and more.

What: 

When/Where: Friday, December 30, 9:00 p.m. at the BAMCafe, 30 Lafayette Avenue

Why Go: According to BAM.org, "Equally proficient in Cuban salsa, Congolese rumba-soukous and Haitian compas, Charanga Soleil is a pan-Caribbean dance band extraordinaire. Flutes add a breezy buoyancy to their sound, which includes the twangy sound of the 21-stringed African kora."

When/Where: Saturday, December 31, 12:00 p.m. at Olivino Wine Bar, 436 Marcus Garvey Boulevard

Why Go: Before you head off to your New Years Eve party, stop by at Olivino Wine Bar to taste a few wines from across the globe. It might help you decide what you will be drinking for the night.

When/Where: Saturday, December 31, 11:15 p.m. at 135 Prospect Park West

Why Go:  Before the fireworks at midnight, take a three mile run in Prospect Park. Flip-top mittens to first 300 registrants. Glow necklaces, hot chocolate and munchies for all! Register at www.nycruns.com.

When/Where: Saturday, January 1, 10:00 a.m. at the Audubon Center in Prospect Park

Why Go: Bring in the New Year with a walk through Prospect Park and check out some of the Park's beautiful winged wildlife.
