WHAT: “Afropolitan Dreams” Block Party
WHEN/WHERE: Saturday, May 4, 2:00 – 6:00 p.m. Block Party on Lewis Ave between Decatur and Macdonough, 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. Live Concert in Fulton Park 
WHY GO: The Museum of Contemporary African Diasporan Arts will host its Soul of Brooklyn  to get your head bopping, feet moving and body rocking. Locals can drop by Lewis Avenue between Decatur Street and Macdonough Street for the festival, complete with art, film, shopping and a live concert featuringBlitz the AmbassadorLes Nubians and Chief Boima

WHAT: Target First Saturdays

WHEN/WHERE: Saturday, March 4, 5:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m., 200 Eastern Parkway, Bklyn
WHY GO: At the Brooklyn Museum's Target First Saturdays, thousands of visitors and their families enjoy free programs of art and entertainment each month, from 5 to 11 p.m. Enjoy Pop-up theatres, interactive play, children’s space, live music performances and films. Come enjoy the current exhibit of John Singer Sargent Watercolors. Also, this month’s featured artist is soul singer Jesse Boykins. And all evening long, the Museum Café serves a wide selection of sandwiches, salads, and beverages, and a cash bar offers wine and beer. Parking is a flat rate of $5 starting at 5 p.m.

WHAT: The NHS First Annual Art Show

WHEN/WHERE: Saturday, May 4, 11:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m., NHS of Bedford-Stuyvesant, 1012 Gates Ave (between Ralph and Broadway avenues), Bklyn WHY GO: The Neighobrhood Housing Services of Bed-Stuy cordially invite you to take part in its first annual art show. Featured artists include Carlos Mateu, Fredricia Hartley, Daine Grazette-Collins and many more. There will be a raffle and live jazz provided by the Marc Constant Collective.
HOW MUCH: Suggested Donation, $10  

WHAT: Ben Harney Discuss Directing “Pearl” (Bailey)

WHEN/WHERE: Saturday, May 4, 2:00 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.; Sunday, May 5, 5:00 p.m., Kumble Theatre at LIU Brooklyn (Flatbush and Dekalb avenues), Bklyn
WHY GO: Come watch the movie, “Pearl” chronicling the life of a legendary singer, actress, activist Pearl Bailey, and then take part in an intimate discussion with the movie’s director. "She became an ambassador under two presidents and was the first African- American woman to have her own network television show. We do our best to touch upon all these milestones in the script while entertaining the audience with her music and unmatched charm," said CB Murray, writer, choreographer and nephew of the award-winning songstress.  See full interview here.

WHAT: The 12th Annual Women of African Descent Film Festival
WHEN/WHERE: Saturday, May 4, 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m., LIU Brooklyn in the Spike Lee Screening Room (Flatbush and Dekalb avenues), Bklyn
WHY GO: The Brooklyn Arts Council presents the 12th Annual Women of African Descent Film Festival. The festival features a collection of films that celebrate the positive linkages that women of African descent have to their families, friends, and communities.
