Get Out: A Barbeque, a Garden Party and the Great GoogaMooga

The weather Gods will be smiling on us this weekend, so check out a barbeque, a music festival or a county fair. All are happening this weekend, so Get Out!

WHEN/WHERE: Friday, May 18, 7:30 p.m., One Last Shag, 348 Franklin Avenue, Bklyn, NY

WHY GO: Put on your party pants and come get sassy this Friday at One Last Shag’s first BBQ of the Season. There will be a delicious BBQ in the awesome backyard, so come hungry!! (vegetarian options will be available, DUH guys!). There will also be a raffle going, and trust and believe, you'll want in on it. And if all of that is not good enough, our absolute favorite bar slingers, Pepper and Court, will be pouring out the booze to make you all extra giddy.

WHAT: The Kings County Fair

WHEN/WHERE: May 17 – May 28, Floyd Bennett Field, 3159 Flatbush Avenue, Bklyn, NY

WHY GO: The community event will once again include a variety of rides and games for kids of all ages, tasty treats including corn dogs, cotton candy, funnel cakes and much more. The years' Fair will also feature a new super spectacular ride from Italy and the only one in America - The Stinger, the World Famous High Flying Pages aerial trapeze show, Miss Vicenta and her Royal White Bengal Tigers and equestrian Artistry performed by The Riding Donnerts with Miss Mercedes Ballerina on Horseback.

HOW MUCH: $5 admission, plus $25 - $30 for all-day pass, depending upon day

 

WHAT: Amazing Botanicals Pop-up Salon and Garden Party

WHEN/WHERE: Saturday, May 19, 12:00 p.m., Brooklyn Beso Restaurant, 370 Lewis Avenue, Bklyn, NY

WHY GO: Amazing Botanicals is hosting a pop-up salon, offering local and national small brands in Jewelry, Hair Care, Beauty Products and Health Living Aides. We want to provide you with as much information to make the best choices for your needs.  This will be a seasonal event that will have a continuous change of featured products and services. Join us in the Launch Come get your hair styled at the MacDonough Street Pop Up Salon or at BESO to shop and meet new friends!

WHAT: The Great Googa Mooga

WHEN/WHERE: Saturday, May 19 – Sunday, May 20, 11:00 a.m., Prospect Park West at 9th Street

WHY GO: This will be a wonderful celebration of food, music and Prospect Park - three things that make Brooklyn such a wonderful place to live, work and play. Frederick Law Olmsted said it best when he proclaimed that “the Park should be a pleasure-ground second to none in the world.” We feel that The Great GoogaMooga is the perfect embodiment of that sentiment. Musical guests include: The Roots, Holy Ghost!, Preservation Hall Jazz Band, Daryl Hall & John Oates, Fitz & The Tantrums, Lez Zeppelin, and more!
