School is out.

While most school-aged children rejoice at summer’s return, for those families that are struggling to hold finances together, summertime is a stressful time, signaling an increase in spending on childcare and food.

In fact, for many children, the free breakfasts and lunches provided at their school were a big part of their daily nutritional intake, and without them, many go hungry.
