Coming Soon to Brooklyn: Shred Fest
The first five people to arrive with their personal papers at each Shred Fest location will receive a free paper shredder, donated by Staples.
The 6th Annual citywide Shred Fest is this Sunday, May 19, from 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Shred Fest is a free event to help New Yorkers prevent identity theft. At Shred Fest you can:
- Shred papers containing your personal information safely using shredding trucks at one of 10 locations throughout the City.
- Get free identity theft prevention tips.
Bensonhurst Park Cropsey Avenue and Bay 29th St.
Transit: D to Bay Parkway
Cadman Plaza Cadman Plaza West, opposite Clark Street
Transit: A, C to High Street; 2, 3, 4 to Borough Hall; R to Court Street-Borough Hall
Flatbush/Nostrand Junction Near the corner of Flatbush Ave and Hillel Place, next to Municipal Credit Union
Transit: 2, 5 to Flatbush Avenue-Brooklyn College
Prospect Park Prospect Park West and 34d St
Transit: 2, 3 to Grand Army Plaza; F to 7th Ave.

- Bank statements that are at least one year old and do not contain tax-related information
- Pay stubs (only after you receive your Form W-2)
- Credit card applications
- Any documents that contain any of the following personal information: your Social Security number, account numbers, password/PIN information, birth date, private contact information, and signature
