Chauncey Residents Spend a Day Without Water and Heat
Water has been restored, but residents say they need more notice
After a water main break yesterday morning, over 100 families on Chauncey Street were without heat and water for much of the day, according to Brooklyn's News 12.
The Department of Environmental Protection shut off the water and heat in the morning, in order to fix the water main break. While DEP workers handed out notices and went door-to-door to warn residents, many felt that they should have been notified earlier on, according to the report.
The water was restored later in the afternoon, but DEP will be doing more work in the area.
