BSRC to Host Free Movie Screening: "NO!"

Documentary features riveting testimonials of black women rape survivors who defy victimization

Tonight, March 29, from 6:30 pm - 9:00 pm, The Skylight Gallery at will host a free screening of the movie, "NO!"

Produced and directed by Aishah Shahidah Simmons, an incest and rape survivor, "NO!" boldly addresses various forms of sexual oppression against women and girls throughout the world.

The feature-length documentary was produced over a period of eleven years, seven of which were full time, and features riveting testimonials of black women rape survivors who defy victimization. It is a part of the "" art exhibit series that debuted February 5, to a moving and enthusiastic reception at the Skylight Gallery.

The screening will be followed by a discussion of the film, led by the film's director, Aishah Shahidah Simmons, and the curator of the art exhibit, "Sex Crimes Against Black Girls," Shantrelle Lewis.
