Brooklyn LGBT Pride Parade This Weekend!

Celebrate the 17th Annual Brooklyn Pride Week with a film night at Brooklyn Museum, the Pride 5K run in Prospect Park and the Multicultural Festival followed by the "Twilight Pride Parade" along Fifth Avenue.

Fly that rainbow flag, Brooklyn!   

The 17th Annual LGBT Pride week started Monday, June 3 with the flag raising ceremony at Borough Hall with Brooklyn Pride and Brooklyn Borough President Marty Markowitz and will end Saturday, June 8 with a “Twilight Pride Parade” along Fifth Avenue in Park Slope.   

The next five days will be full of events to celebrate the weeklong observance of LGBT pride in Brooklyn, which is home to one of the city's and nation's largest lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender communities.  

Today, Tuesday, June 4 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Brooklyn Community Pride Center 
will hold an open house at 4 Metrotech (corner of Willoughby & Gold Streets). This event will be a celebratory open house at the center's new location. Learn about BCPC's current program initiatives and suggest areas for expansion. Light refreshments served.

Wednesday, June 5, from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. the Pride Reception
at Brooklyn Borough Hall - 209 Joralemon Street. Tonight, co-hosted with Borough President Marty Markowitz, will honor the local LGBT community. This year's honoree is the Brooklyn Community Pride Center. 

Thursday, JUNE 6, at 7 p.m. there will be a free film night at Brooklyn Museum, screening "Boys in the Band." A discussion with Laurence Luckinbill (Hank) from both the play & film to follow.   

Friday, June 7 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Anyone doing the Pride 5K Run in Prospect Park will be able to pick up their race bibs, goodie bags, shirts and have a little pre-5K fun at Brooklyn Borough Hall - 209 Joralemon Street. 

Saturday, June 8, 2013 is Pride Day 2013 and there are a bunch of events happening all day and into the night! 

The Pride 5K Run at 10 a.m. (Registration begins at 8 a.m.) on the Prospect Park Loop. Enter at 15th Street Bartel-Pritchard Square. An event for the LGBT community and friends in a festive and inclusive
environment. A portion of the proceeds will go to the LGBT Youth Program at GLOBE/Make The Road NY. Co-Sponsored with Front Runners

The Multicultural Festival / Stage Entertainment / Spoken Word from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Fifth Avenue, between Third and Ninth streets. Come and enjoy entertainment at two stages, shopping, food, spoke word and more!   

Also from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. is the Kids Space. Join your kids for fun at the playground at the Old Stone House/Washington Park on Fifth Avenue, between Third and Fourth streets. Enjoy face painting, balloon animals, puppets and arts & crafts!   

Twilight Pride Parade starts at 7:30 p.m. along Fifth Avenue, from Douglas to Ninth streets. Come through and be lead through Park Slope by MC RonB, who will be dressed as Tina Turner! Don’t miss the first "Twilight Parade" in the Northeast; a celebration of LGBT Pride and Heritage!
