Announcement: Calling All Residents for LPC Hearing on Landmarking Stuyvesant Heights Expansion
We are close, but it is still not yet a done deal
Dear Members of the Bedford-Stuyvesant and Stuyvesant Heights Community:
The Landmarks Preservation Commission will be holding a final hearing for the proposed Stuyvesant Heights Expansion on Tuesday, August 2 at the Municipal Building in downtown Brooklyn.
In recent months, we've made great strides towards getting closer to landmarking the Stuyvesant Heights Expansion, but this is not yet a done deal. While we know from our community meetings that most people are in support of the designation, there are still a few dissenters.

We need those in favor to attend the hearing and testify in person or send their testimony via email or fax. We have created an electronic postcard just for residents of the Stuyvesant Heights Expansion to send as testimony.
LPC sent notifications to residents of the proposed Stuyvesant Heights Historic District Expansion on July 16 by certified mail, however many residents are saying they have not received the letter or a notification from the post office. .

We also are encouraging residents of the other proposed districts in Bedford Stuyvesant to support our neighbors of the proposed expansion by sending testimony by email or snail mail.
Individuals wishing to testify in person should check the Landmarks Preservation Commission website, the Friday prior to the public hearing for any updates or changes to the hearing schedule. But all residents of Bed-Stuy can visit the Bedford Stuyvesant Society for Historic Preservation website for details on testifying.
