Alternate Side Parking Suspended for Monday

City residents will not need to move their cars, but parking meters will be in effect

Alternate side parking has been suspended on Feb. 20 for George Washington's birthday, according to the city's Department of Transportation.

Parking meters and all other regulations will be in effect.

The holiday, which is also known as President's Day, commemorates the birthday of the United States' first president. It was originally implemented by an act of Congress in 1880 for government offices, but was expanded five years later to include all federal offices.
