A Tree-Mendous Opportunity!

A tree giveaway this Saturday will give Bed-Stuy residents a chance to replenish their fallen folliage

This Saturday, March 26, from 10:00 am until noon, 300 trees will be given away to the earliest arrivers at the Putnam Triangle, at Fulton Street between Grand and Putnman Avenues in Clinton Hill.

If your Bed-Stuy block is anything like most tree-lined blocks in Central Brooklyn, devastated by last year's tornado and the unforgiving snowstorms that followed, then this is an opportunity to restore the foliage in your front and back yard.

Trees beautify the landscape of any block. They also help tame the winter winds, keep you cool in the summer, replenish the oxygen in your area and also increase your property value.

The following are the species of trees that will be given away, one tree per person, first-come, first-served:

  • 100 Japanese Cherry Trees
  • 150 Kwanzan Cherry Trees
  • 50 Cherokee Brave Dogwood Trees

Let your church, your community group or your block association know about this free event, so that you can walk away with several trees, instead of just one!
