Today, September 13, is a busy day!

Today's a voting day, so don't forget to cast your ballot. Then, later today, you have your choice of joining a movement against Wall Street, going to a book party in Fort Greene or taking the kids to a free movement class.

Who's world is this? The world is yours!

1.     Today, Tuesday, September 13 is the Democratic Party primary elections for Civil Court in Kings County and New York County. The four candidates running are: Kings County Civil Court, Countywide. Cheryl J. Gonzales and Sharen D. Hudson; for New York County Civil Court, 3rd District: Anthony Cannataro and Sabrina B. Kraus. The New York Times' endorsements, which can be influential in off-year elections when no statewide or national candidates are on the ballot, have gone to Judge Gonzales in the Brooklyn race and to Mr. Cannataro in Manhattan.

2.     Tonight, September 13,  #OccupyWallStreet Bed-Stuy contingent is holding an informational meeting at Amarachi's Lounge, 325 Franklin Avenue (near Clifton Place), 7:00pm - 10:00pm. Occupy Wall Street is a leaderless resistance movement with people of many colors, genders and political persuasions. The one thing we all have in common is that We Are The 99% that will no longer tolerate the greed and corruption of the 1%. On the 17th of September, we want to see 20,000 people flood into lower Manhattan, set up tents, kitchens, peaceful barricades and occupy Wall Street for a few months. Once there, we shall incessantly repeat one simple demand in a plurality of voices and they say they will not leave until that demand has been met. Besides learning about what's going down this Saturday, we'll have free pizza and a couple cool special announcements!

3.     Terry McMillan hosts Touré: On Tuesday, September 13, at Greenlight Bookstore, (686 Fulton Street) from 7:30pm to 9:30pm, Touré presents his book Who's Afraid of Post-Blackness?: What It Means to Be Black Now Launch party with live DJ, drinks & refreshments and hosted by Terry McMillan/ Examining the concept of "Post-Blackness," a term that defines artists who are proud to be Black but don't want to be limited by identity politics, Touré divulges intimate, funny, and painful stories of how racial expectations have shaped his own life, and explores how the concept of Post-Blackness functions in politics, art, culture, and more. The book also includes insights from a wide spectrum of contemporary luminaries, from Cornel West to Malcolm Gladwell to Kara Walker to David Paterson to Chuck D. The festivities will be hosted by bestselling and critically acclaimed author Terry McMillan, author of Waiting to Exhale and most recently Getting to Happy

4.     Come out to Bedford-Hill Coffee Bar on 343 Franklin Avenue (at the Corner of Greene Avenue) at 3:00pm for a free, varietal coffee tasting with Steve Kessler from Anodyne Coffee Roasting Company.

5.     Free Kids Demo Classes at Sacred Yoga Studios, 197 Clifton Pl, Brooklyn, 5:00pm daily: Two weeks of demo classes for the kids which includes, hip-hop, rhythm, and capoeira. Sacred is a yoga and movement studio that primarily specializes in hot yoga. It also offers high-energy movement classes, meditation, and pole dancing. The studio has movement classes just for kids as well as Family Jam dance parties the first Sunday of each month.
