Starting last Friday, and continuing throughout the entire month of April is the 13th Annual Central Brooklyn Jazz Festival, presented by the Central Brooklyn Jazz Consortium at venues from Coney Island to Williamsburg in Brooklyn. This month long celebration is New York City's longest continually running grass roots festival dedicated to jazz. 4. Sunday, April 1, marked the start of a sales tax exemption on clothes and footwear under $110 in New York City. There was a sales tax exemption in New York a few years back, but the state rescinded it. Now it is back in affect, a savings of nearly 9 percent.
