5 Things You Should Know This Week
Alternate side parking suspensions, a meeting on landmark designation of Stuyvesant North and the vice presidential debate
1. Alternate side of the street parking rules are suspended on Monday, October 8, for Columbus Day/Shemini Atzereth and on Tuesday, October 9, for Simchas Torah. All other regulations, including parking meters, remain in effect.
2. G Train weekday planned service changes: Beginning at 12:01 AM to 5 AM, Wed to Fri, Oct 10 - 12, no G trains between Hoyt-Schermerhorn Sts and Church Av.
A and F trains provide alternate service via Jay St-MetroTech. G service operates in two sections:
1. Between Court Sq and Bedford-Nostrand Avs.
2. Between Bedford-Nostrand Avs and Hoyt-Schermerhorn Sts.
• To continue your trip, transfer at Bedford-Nostrand Avs.
• Transfer between A and G trains at Hoyt-Schermerhorn Sts.
• Transfer between A and F trains at Jay St-MetroTech.
3. Community Board 3 Landmarks Committee will host a forum for property owners of the proposed Stuyvesant North Historic District on Wednesday, October 10, 6:30 p.m., at the Bridge Street A.W.M.E. Church, 277 Stuyvesant Ave, Brooklyn, NY. Information will be provided about the designation process and how designation will affect property owners. The forum will also include a question and answer period.

4. The vice presidential debate, the first between Joe Biden and Paul Ryan, will be televised live this Thursday, October 11, 9:00 p.m. - 10:30 p.m.
5. Join Bridge Street Development Corporation on Thursday, October 11, for a "Mapping the Road Ahead" free forum about public spaces in Bed-Stuy and how we as a community can be a part of designing these spaces in a way that fosters social and economic equity. The forum will take place at Fashion Rock Hall, located at 372 Tompkins Avenue @ Putnam Ave, from 6:30pm - 8:00pm. A Wine & hors d'oeuvres reception to follow located at The Gallery Next Door 370 Tompkins Avenue @ Putnam Ave, Brooklyn featuring the Life in Bedstuy by Danny Rosenhanst.
