1. Today, Monday, May 9 from 6:30 pm – 8:30 pm, Sweet Roll Entertainment announces the spring Curvy Girl Fashion Swap! at Night of The Cookers, located at 767 Fulton Street in Brooklyn.  If you are looking for vintage and unique styles sizes 10+, this is the event for you! 2. Join author Randal Pinkett, Ph.D. on Wednesday, May 11, 6:00 pm, at Restoration Plaza for a book signing and reception for “Black Faces in White  Places: 10 Game Changing Strategies to Achieve Success and Find Greatness. The author is a winner of Donald Trump’s reality TV show, “The Apprentice,” and co-founding chairman-CEO of BCT Partners, an IT and management consulting firm based in Newark. 3. Thursday, May 12, from 4:00 – 7:00 pm, get ready to make all the connections you need to keep your teen busy this summer at the “Youth Resource Fair.” The event is for youth ages 11- 21 years old and is located at the SCO Family Dynamics Resource Center at MS 35, 272 MacDonough Street. The Fair will feature summer youth employment enrollment, GED/education options, information on sexual health and college enrollment. The even also will include music, an open mic and prizes and giveaways.

4. Saturday, May 14, is the “Unity Fest” on Franklin Avenue, between Clifton Place and Greene Avenue. The block party is celebrating the diversity of their community. The celebrations’ purpose is to keep the unity of this community growing! The events will feature many dazzling musical performances, a variety of kid-friendly events including a Kiddie Bouncer, Petting zoo and, other games for the children. There will also be local vendors showcasing their art, barbeque to share, an exquisite hair-fashion show (produced by Sabines’ Hallway), a UNITY WALL capturing the spirit of togetherness for all to sign, community garden activities promoting a green environment and speakers presenting on healthy living.

5. On Saturday, May 14, from 12:00 pm – 5:00 pm, The Bedford-Stuyvesant Restoration Corporation, in collaboration with the New York City Department of Consumer Affairs, invite all artists to “The Art of Money,” a day of free financial workshops and counseling designed to help working artists and independent workers reduce debt and manage credit. Speakers include Kate D. Levin, Commissioner, New York City Department of Cultural Affairs, Marty Markowitz, Brooklyn Borough President, Jimmy Van Bramer, New York City Council Member and Chair of the Committee on Cultural Affairs, Colvin Grannum, President, Bedford-Stuyvesant Restoration Corporation, Danny Simmons, Chair of New York State Council on the Arts and Artist and others.
