5 Things You Should Know This Week

Bike shares, a workshop on juicing and Bed-Vyne links with Do or Dine

Bed-Stuy residents: Don't get left out of the loop. Check out our "5 Things You Should Know" to jumpstart you into a productive week.

1. invites you to the next stop in its popular Wine and Food Pairing Series: "Bed-Vyne Goes To ," Monday, March 19, seatings are at 6:00pm, 8:00pm and 10:00pm at Do or Dine, 1108 Bedford Avenue. The first was for the kids (Bed-Stuy YMcA Strong Kids Campaign). This one hopes to make Bed-Stuy a culinary destination! Join Bed-Vyne as it pairs some of its highest-rated wines with Do Or Dine's Michelin-rated deliciousness. No reservations: first come, first serve. Cash only.

2. ! In summer 2012, NYC Department of Transportation and Alta Bikes will launch NYC Bike Share with approximately 10,000 bikes at 600 stations across the city. Bed Stuy will be one of the core program areas. This is your opportunity to learn more about Bike Share and give suggestions for how the program can work in your community. The workshop sessions start Wednesday, March 21, at 6:00pm and 7:00pm at Restoration Plaza, 1368 Fulton Street.

3. Learn about the benefits of juicing with Teicha Merritt! Come take Teicha’s workshop on Thursday, March 22, at 11:00am, at the , located at 1121 Bedford Avenue. Learn which fruits and vegetables are most flavorful, whether juicing help release toxins and has a cleansing effects on the body. Samples will be included in this workshop.

4. The New York City Housing Authority with the Department of Community Programs and Development are conducting auditions now for its 42nd Annual Talent Show Competition. To schedule an audition, call the Straus Performing Arts Center at 212-683-3647. You can also email audition video links to juan.santiago@nycha.nyc.gov.

5.
