"5 Things You Should Know" may turn your opinion of Mondays around, with information to jump-start you into a productive week. Be the first to know about parking changes, traffic changes, important meetings, and the hottest events in Bed-Stuy. After all, there's no better way to arm oneself than with information:

1. Cocktails & Bureaucracy— Extreme Kids & Crew, in conjunction with the Brooklyn Parent Center for the Independence of the Disabled (BCED), presents the first of a series of evening workshops for parents of special needs children. The workshop is free, and the topic is an overview of the special education system and the New I.E.P. (Individual Education Plan).  Tuesday, March 15, from 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm, 143 Waverly Avenue.

2. Business trade show that connects corporations with entrepreneurs, government agencies, non-profits, business advocacy and the media. Tuesday, March 15th, from 9:00 am - 3:00 pm, 15 Washington Ave, Brooklyn, NY 11205 (Stiener Studios/ Navy Yard) Buy Tickets here.

3. "Being Bushified: Breaks, Beats and Battles"--Urban Bush Women’s monthly community and culture series! UBW looks at community through dance, workshops, conversations and films showing how these impact the education system, health and the innovation that takes place as a result. 4. On Thursday, March 17th at 6:30 pm, Brooklyn Borough President Marty Markowitz invites the community to join him at a rally to organize “NO Budget Cuts to Our Schools:” Speak out, speak up! New York State legislators won their elections  promising to defend public education. Now they have to deliver! Stop the budget cuts! The group will gather at Borough Hall Court Room. 5. Every Friday,  , 107 Macon St, Brooklyn, NY 11216 (Between Nostrand and Marcy Avenues) features a special performance. This Friday, March 18th, from 8:00 pm - 12:00 am, it is Music Trio, Bass, starring Eric Lemon, Drums-Doug Richardson, and Piano-Rudi Wongozi. Doors open at 8pm. Singers and Musicians welcome.
