On Tuesday, February 15th and Wednesday, February 16th, at Brooklyn Technical High School (29 Fort Greene Place at Dekalb Avenue), in honor of Black History Month, STEMcp.com, in conjunction with BOSS (black organization of student strength), will host a two-day workshop to introduce high school students and their parents to S.T.E.M. (science, technology, engineering and math) career options. The workshops will be held in the school's library.

Majors Victor Terrelonge and Bill Whelle will tell the story of The Tuskegee Airmen. During World War ll the Tuskagee Airmen became known as the first African-American Airmen for the U.S.A.

Beginning Wednesday, February 16, 2011, 6:30 pm – 8:30 pm

  •     Learn How to Access Government and Private Services for Your Community and Faith Based Family
  •     Get involved and work with Community Based Organizations
  •     Learn how to be an advocate and change laws and policies on the issues that are important to you

On Wednesday, February 16th at Restoration Plaza, 6:00 pm, the Landmarks Preservation Commission will host a community meeting with Bed-Stuy’s landmark coalition and its residents – an important event in the renewed effort to get the proposed districts in Bedford-Stuyvesant finally landmarked. Community participation is highly welcomed and highly encouraged!!!!
